In Chinese Medical Philosophy the human body is built up with lines or channels through which the energy (qi) of the body flows. Along these channels are many points of entry into the body. These are called Acupuncture Points. In modern times, acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine sterile stainless steel needles into these points to remove blockages and imbalances, and encourage the qi energy and blood to circulate smoothly throughout the body. This stimulates the body to heal itself. Acupuncture needling creates a variety of sensations that vary from person to person: numbness, heat, aching, moving and occasionally a pricking feeling. Side Effects: Side effects are minimal but they do exist. Bruising may occur at the needle site and the puncturing of an internal organ has been recorded. Every care is taken to ensure the safety of all clients. Please advise if you are pregnant, have hepatitis, AIDS or any other infectious disease.
